Economic sovereignty
at the heart of debate
Held in Casablanca under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the fourth edition of the Choiseul Africa Business Forum focused on the theme of economic sovereignty. How can dependence on external resources be reduced? What kind of sovereignty should African economies seek, and how can it be built on a continental scale? These were some of the questions addressed throughout the rich discussions of the day.
Choiseul Africa Awards
For the second year, Choiseul Africa concluded a day full of exchanges and encounters with a grand awards ceremony. On this occasion, four business leaders with outstanding career paths and achievements were awarded Choiseul Africa prizes, in recognition of their economic and social commitment to the African continent.
The Republic of Benin honored
Succeeding Madagascar as the country of honor, Benin was represented at the highest level and promoted on several occasions during the event. The Vice-President of the Republic of Benin, Mariam Chabi TALATA, was the guest of honor at this fourth edition, and was accompanied by high-ranking public and private leaders from Benin, giving them the possibility to speak on a panel dedicated to investment opportunities in Benin.
PPPs and Interregional Cooperation for Territorial Development
During this fourth edition, a panel organized in collaboration with the Casablanca-Settat Region, one of the forum's institutional partners, was held on November 17th. The panel was dedicated to Public-Private Partnerships and interregional cooperation for regional development. The introductory speech by Mr. Abdellatif MÂZOUZ, President of the Casablanca-Settat Region, and the various interventions by regional presidents and private actors who have invested through PPPs explored the use of these partnerships as instruments for economic development.
Working sessions
About 800 of the most influential economic and institutional decision-makers and leaders from Africa, Europe and the Gulf met on November 16th and 17th for a dozen working sessions, placing Africa at the center of discussions. From agri-food value chains to infrastructure megaprojects, through innovative financial systems, the fourth edition of the Choiseul Africa Business Forum highlighted the continent's growth-generating sectors.
Effective networking
Numerous relationships and partnerships were concluded between participants during networking and working sessions of this fourth edition of the Choiseul Africa Business Forum, reflecting the significant role played by Choiseul Africa in the African business world, as a platform for synergies and structuring exchanges offering concrete business opportunities.
